The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) confirmed last December that the Minimum Annual Remuneration (MAR) rates attached to every Irish employment-permit route will go up on 1 March 2026.  The new figures are as follows:

General Employment Permits will rise from the current threshold of  €34,000 to €36,605,

Critical Skills Employment Permit will rise from €38,000 to €40,904

Intra-Company Transfer permits rise above the current €49,500 mark.

The changes align with the Government’s 2025 Employment Permits Roadmap, which aims to make Ireland more attractive for highly-skilled workers but at the same time discouraging under-paid roles from being outsourced to non-EEA staff. Businesses must file renewal applications by 28 February if they want current salaries to apply and after that date the higher thresholds will automatically apply.
