The Department of Justice have announced the introduction of a new form of the Irish Residence Permit (IRP Card) valid from the 1st of March 2022. IRP Cards are issued to non-EEA nationals who are registered with the Irish immigration authorities as living, working, studying in Ireland.

The new version of the IRP Card includes the non-EEA national cardholder’s signature as well as new additional security features in compliance with updated EU common format specifications.

Old versions of the IRP Cards will remain valid until the expiry date which appears on the card or until 31st of May 2022 (the expiry date of the Covid-19 temporary extension of immigration permissions), whichever arises later.
