The Immigration Service Delivery has announced that from the 10º of June 2024, applications for permission to reside in the State as the De Facto Partner of an Irish or non-EEA national can be submitted online via the Immigration Service Delivery online portal.

The change in application process is a further step of the ISD towards improving customer experience and the digitalisation of its application services.

The change in application process is for partners of Irish or Non-EEA nationals lawfully residing in the State on Stamp 1, 4 or 5 conditions only.

Persons applying for permission to remain in the State as the durable partners of EU nationals should apply as normal by submitting a paper application using the Form EUTR1A to the EU Treaty Rights Unit.

All other terms and conditions of the defacto permission application process remain unchanged and can be read on the ISD website aqui.
